Noelle Santos Wants The Bronx "Lit" With Independent Bookstore

Noelle Santos, a book lover and HR Manager, is taking her love for literature to the next level! Her latest project, The Lit. Bar, will bring a much needed independently-owned bookstore to the South Bronx. Santos knows the importance of having access to literature and wants to keep a literary scene accessible to all in the Bronx community. The Lit. Bar would double as a bookstore and wine bar, and provide a dedicated platform for Bronx literary events and functions, including a children's section Santos will call Kiddie Liter.

Currently the only bookstore in the Bronx is a Barnes & Noble in Co-Op City. "We have 1.4 million people here and 10 colleges in the borough, and we have that one bookstore," she said. "That's how this whole thing started," Santos told DNA Info.

Of the recent interests in the Bronx development market, Santos added, "People from the outside are taking value in our market. I want to do my part to make sure that Bronxites are represented in all these new developments and businesses," she said.

At the core of Santos' Lit. project is the need to keep literature options available in the Bronx as well as give back to the community that raised her. Support this amazing project and help get the Bronx Lit.!
